Permits
Permits
Aero CORE now ships a full permit system — including non-vehicle permits (fire-break, pool-inspection, pet). This note covers vehicle permits: how they've improved since v1 and how to use them for parking management.
Permit configuration
From the parking section: Permits → Configuration → Permits. Three areas:
- Categories — permit types, with colour, enforcement behaviour and active hours
- Permit logic — how permits are matched and applied
- Permit archive — retired permits, kept for history
Permit logic — how a permit, its category and integrations decide which vehicles are authorised:
Permit archive — hidden from the main list but kept for audit; restore or delete here.
Creating a permit category
In Permit Categories → Create — e.g. Resident permit 3. Give it a colour (reflected on the zone) and a description.
Enforcement modes
In a category's advanced settings, set a permit code and its enforcement mode — what a matching permit suppresses vs. what still fires.
| Decision | Enforced | Access exempt | Fully exempt |
|---|---|---|---|
| No permit | ✅ Cleared | ✅ Cleared | ⚪ Exempt |
| No payment | ✅ Cleared | ✅ Cleared | ⚪ Exempt |
| No stopping | 🔴 Flagged | 🔴 Flagged | ⚪ Exempt |
| Overstay | 🔴 Flagged | 🔴 Flagged | ⚪ Exempt |
| Wrong direction | 🔴 Flagged | 🔴 Flagged | ⚪ Exempt |
| Body type | 🔴 Flagged | 🔴 Flagged | ⚪ Exempt |
- Enforced (default, safest) — clears No permit / No payment; the rest still fire.
- Access exempt — present without paying or holding a separate permit; overstay, wrong direction and body type still fire.
- Fully exempt — exempt from all decisions. Reserved for diplomatic / emergency / disability permits.
Active hours
On the same panel, set active hours across the week — days plus start/end (e.g. Mon–Fri 08:00–15:00). Blank = 24/7. Applies across all covered zones; short-term integration sessions ignore this and use their own times. See Zones for how categories cover zones.
Creating a permit
Open Permits → Create:
- Required — Plate (e.g. ABC123), State, Category, Zones, Valid from, Valid to
- Optional vehicle details — Make, Model, Year, Colour
Zones support multi-select, including sub-zones like Level 1.
Imports & API
Built for third-party imports: bulk-upload via CSV, or feed permits directly via API.
Sessions vs permits
Sessions differ from permits: a session is a temporary parking session from a third party (e.g. Easy Park) covering a vehicle for a short, paid window — rather than an ongoing permit issued and managed here. See Parking Sessions for the full guide.
