What it shows
The Survey Dashboard is the main reporting page for mobile vehicle-capture surveys. It brings together capture volume, unique vehicles, survey days, average observed duration, short-stay percentage, sweep activity, vehicle classification and zone-level pressure.
Use it when reviewing how an area is being used, comparing one survey period with another, identifying long-stay behaviour, or checking which zones are over capacity.
Generate a report
Set the From and To dates, then click Generate Report. Use Clear to reset the date range before running a new report.
Summary cards
The top cards give a quick operational snapshot: Total Captures, Unique Vehicles, Survey Days, Avg Duration, Short Stay % and Sweeps.
- Total Captures — every vehicle capture recorded during the report period.
- Unique Vehicles — distinct vehicles seen in the survey.
- Survey Days — the number of days represented in the report.
- Avg Duration — average observed dwell time.
- Short Stay % — the percentage of vehicles observed under the configured short-stay threshold.
- Sweeps — the number of survey passes, with the average interval shown underneath.
Vehicle classification
Vehicle Classification groups unique vehicles by behaviour. In this report, vehicles are separated into commuter, regular, repeat visitor and one-time categories, with a donut chart showing the overall mix.
- Commuter — vehicles seen across multiple days and classified as long-stay behaviour.
- Regular — vehicles appearing across three or more days.
- Repeat Visitor — vehicles seen on two days.
- One-Time — vehicles seen on one day only.
Vehicle trends
Daily Vehicle Trend shows capture volume as bars and unique vehicles as a line. This helps distinguish busy survey days from days where the same vehicles were captured repeatedly.
Duration and timing
Duration Distribution shows how long vehicles were observed staying. Use it to separate short visits from longer dwell periods such as one to two hours, two to four hours, or long-stay activity over four hours.
Hourly Activity Profile highlights the busiest capture windows. This is useful for understanding peak arrival times, midday turnover and quieter periods.
Average Captures by Day of Week shows how survey activity changes between weekdays and weekends. Use it to identify which days are most representative for future survey planning.
Zone overview
The Zone Overview table lists each zone with survey days, average daily captures, peak daily captures, average dwell, sweeps, average plates per sweep, average sweep spacing, capacity, peak occupancy and pressure.
Pressure labels make capacity issues easier to scan. Oversubscribed zones are running above capacity, Healthy zones are within a usable range, and Underutilised zones are below expected demand.
