Review enforcement value against ANPR system and labour costs, compare return by system or officer, and model projected usage impact.
What it shows
The Returns page in Intel is a financial reporting dashboard for ANPR enforcement activity. It compares the value generated by infringements against the operating cost of ANPR systems, helping teams understand net return, cost per day and cost per hour.
Use it when reviewing return on investment, preparing operational reports, modelling stronger system usage, or comparing whether return is best understood by ANPR system or by officer.
Filter and view
Use the Date filter to narrow the reporting period. The segmented control switches between Per ANPR System and Per Officer, so the same return figures can be reviewed from either an equipment or labour perspective.
Return cards
The summary cards give a quick read on the selected report. In the ANPR system view, they show Enforcement Value, Total ANPR System Costs, Net Return, Avg Cost / Day and Avg Cost / Hour.
- Enforcement Value — the combined infringement value in the selected period.
- Total ANPR System Costs — the total operating cost assigned to the ANPR systems in the report.
- Net Return — enforcement value less the relevant system and cost inputs.
- Avg Cost / Day — average system cost across active days.
- Avg Cost / Hour — average system cost across active hours.
Usage projection
The Usage Projection section lets you model higher utilisation without changing the actual report data. Slide Target Active Days / Month and Active Hours / Day to estimate how usage changes cost per day, cost per hour, projected enforcement value and projected return.
Use Reset to actuals to return the sliders to the current report values. The projected figures are useful for planning and discussion, while the current figures remain the audited baseline.
System breakdown
The ANPR System Breakdown table gives the detailed report behind the cards and chart. It lists each ANPR system, state, system cost per month, enforcement value, return, infringements, active days, active hours, usage percentage, cost per day and cost per hour.
Click an ANPR system cost when it needs to be updated for reporting. More active hours lower the effective cost per hour, so this table is often the best place to explain why utilisation matters.
Per officer view
Switch to Per Officer to compare enforcement value against total cost by officer. This view includes labour cost, ANPR system cost attribution, net return and average value per hour.
Use the officer view when reviewing staff-level return, explaining high-value activity, or identifying where costs are being attributed without matching enforcement value.
