Parking Alerts
Parking alerts are plate-based notifications that help officers review vehicles in the field. Manual entries are operator-authored; rule-based entries can be created from long-dwell reviews when the organisation has configured that workflow.
Adding a manual alert
Go to Parking Alerts → Add alert:
- Plate & state — registration and state; make / model / colour optional
- Category — e.g. Abandoned vehicle or Camping
- Expiry — 1 day · 7 days · 30 days · Never · or a specific date (e.g. 90 days)
- Delivery — announce inside the officer's vehicle via CarLink: on when action is required at location, off for investigation-only
- Create alert
Alert categories
Create unlimited categories in Alert configuration:

Rules
Each rule is an IF condition: when dwell exceeds a set time and threshold, it creates an alert. Rules evaluate cloud-side; enforcement vehicles see the alert when their ANPR scans the matching plate.
Common examples
- Camping — 12 h+ dwell in a zone
- Abandoned vehicle — ~85 h+ (3–4 days)
- Truck overstay in loading zones — 1 h+ in a delivery bay
- Van overstay at drop-off — 30 min+ at the school gates
Creating a rule — Name · Category (existing) · Zones (all or specific) · Vehicle types (any or specific: Sedan, Hatchback, SUV, Ute/Pickup, Van, Truck, Bus, Motorcycle, Trailer) · dwell threshold (e.g. 12 → 24 h).
The rule builder is a six-step wizard — Name → Category → Where (zones) → Which vehicles → When & how (timing + delivery) → Review.
Archived
Archive categories and rules; they stay in the archive and can be reactivated at any time — handy for seasonal rules.
