What Ticket Builder does

Ticket Builder is similar to Document Builder, but it targets smaller thermal ticket printers used in the field. Use it for infringement or notice layouts printed from devices such as Bixolon, Zebra and Canon thermal printers.

A template defines the ticket size, data fields, background artwork, spacing and reserved header/footer areas. Once published, the same template can be used from cases and PatrolLink so officers print consistent tickets in the field.

Ticket Builder lists existing templates, their status, created and edited dates, PDF availability and actions.

Creating a ticket template

Start with Create Ticket Template. Enter a clear template name and description, for example a 58 mm thermal roll notice, then select Create to open the builder.

Building the ticket

The builder shows data fields on the left, the ticket canvas in the centre and template settings on the right. Drag fields onto the thermal paper preview to build the ticket one field at a time.

The thermal paper template is shown in the centre of the builder.

Common ticket fields include first name, last name, vehicle registration, vehicle make, vehicle model, location, offence location, due date, issue time, applied fee, penalty amount, council, signature, officer ID and custom case fields.

Drag fields onto the ticket and adjust their placement.

Ticket and printer settings

The right panel controls the template file, ticket size and field layout. Upload a backdrop file if the ticket needs background artwork or alignment markers. Set the physical ticket preset, such as Thermal 80 mm, Thermal 58 mm, A4, A5 or Custom.

Select the target ticket size for the printer and paper stock.

Use field layout settings to control left padding, right padding and the spacing between stacked fields. These settings keep printed tickets aligned across the organisation.

Field layout controls spacing and padding inside the ticket.

The reference sheet controls the paper shown behind the ticket. A4 and A3 reference sheets can help when checking centred output, while exact ticket size shows only the target ticket area.

Reference sheets are for layout checking and do not change the ticket size.

Header and footer bands reserve space for pre-printed council text or printer-specific margins. Fields cannot be placed inside these bands, which helps maintain consistent printing across the team.

Reserve header and footer space for pre-printed ticket stock.

Preview, save and use

Use preview to check the ticket with sample values before publishing. Save the ticket, exit the builder, and the new template appears in the Ticket Builder list.

Preview shows how the ticket will print with sample case values.
Saved templates can be used by cases and PatrolLink once ready.
